Treatment of Varicose Veins with Endovenous Vein Laser Ablation (EVLA) or Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA)

It is an interventional treatment method applied to eliminate the complaints of pain, oedema, itching, cramps, leg uneasiness, fatigue and curvy vein appearance and discoloration that develop after varicose veins occur in the leg as a result of enlargement of the great sapphire vein in the leg.

This method aims at entering the diseased vein with USG (such as intravenous angiography) and destroying the collagen tissue on the wall of the vein with laser or radiofrequency energy so that the vein cannot be fed anymore.  As a result of this intervention, the functioning of the damaged vein is prevented, and the diseased vein closes by itself or is closed. When this is achieved, the visible varicose veins shrink and disappear. The cosmetic appearance of the leg is corrected by applying foam sclerotherapy to the remaining varicose veins 1-2 weeks later.

Details about the procedure:
• The procedure takes less than 1 hour and a rapid improvement in symptoms is observed.
• It is possible to return to daily activities immediately.
• There is no surgical scar.
• There may be very little bruising, pain and oedema.
• The success rate is between 93% and 100%.
• Patient satisfaction is high after the procedure.
